Birthday World Fun and great Pizza
ElementZero | October 6, 2008Well I haven’t kept up with this blog as much as I would have liked, but last weekend (9/27) my parents came to town and we decided to go to Birthday World. For those of you that don’t know, Birthday world is this new indoor kid playland where they basically have things you woudl see at a small carnival. There are bounce houses, a cariosel, a kiddie coaster, and lots of games like skee ball, basket ball hoop shooting, hit the target with the water pistol etc.
Anyways, first I gotta talk about the pizza that we had before going to birthday world (Pizza being my favorite food and all heh). We went to this place right next door to the Birthday World called Broadway Ristorante & Pizzeria. It was kind of a bar atmosphere, but it was nice. They had live music playing, which the boys got a kick out of. We ordered an XTra large pizza and it came out a short while later. Let me tell you – these guys know how to make a pizza! First off the slices were FRIGGIN HUGE – and by that I mean it’s the only pizza I’ve ever had to use a knife and fork on because I couldn’t fit the slice in my hands. It was also VERY good pizza. If you want good pizza and you have one of these places around (guess it’s a chain) – give this place a try. If they serve you like they did me, you will not be disappointed.
Anyways so after that we went over to Birthday World. Ethan wanted to do some of the bounce houses first while Logan rode some of the rides (i.e. – a moving Fire Truck, a Jeep, a dragon – you know, those types of rides like you see in front of a store). After a bit of that, we took Ethan over and tried to show him the kiddie coaster (which looks like a train). He was completely against the idea, “it’s too scary!”. He rode the carosel, but we knew he would be disappointed if he didn’t ride that train.
We eventually got him to go on some the flying banana ride – which is like that Dumbo ride at Disney World. He loved it

As you can see from the movies – this one little girl decided to ride with Ethan because she was too scared to hit the lever that made the banana go up in the air. Well that worked out for us in the end because the girl apparently wasn’t scared of the train – and Ethan wasn’t about to be shown up by a girl
Well – even though the movie doesn’t really show much (or rather..isn’t too clear) he loved and and talked about it for a while after that. This girl that worked at the Birthday World also spent some 1-on-1 time with Ethan and jumped in the bounce house with him and stuff – which we though was great (you know – the bounce house only allows like 100 lb people in there – so a teenage girl is just about right
). After that we played some games, got some tickets and bought Ethan a slap bracelet.
Logan obviously didn’t get to ride as much rides (height limit) and he wasn’t all into the bounce houses – but he still had a fun time with the games and just walking around. We also did the Tea Cups (kinda like the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party ride at Disney World) and Logan was able to go on that. He just kept saying “whhhooooooaaaa” the whole time lol.
Anyways, it was a great time – definitely nicer to go on a weeknight instead of a weekend day though, as during the weekend all the kids are having their birthday parties there and it’s just kinda crazy.
