Using the freezer to recover a bad hard drive?

Recovering data from a hard drive

So my wife’s hard drive started having the “infamous” clicking noise a couple weeks ago. I say “infamous” because I’ve bought about 7 IBM Hitachi hard drives over the last seven years and EVERY SINGLE ONE has gone bad, with the same clicking noise.  You can use the Hitachi drive repair tool to fix it (I believe it just writes zero’s to the drive) but you lose all your data… Continue reading
